PIChE is committed to continuously advance the technical competence of its members and encourage their participation in endeavors addressing current national and international issues particularly related to the industries, education, economy, and the environment.

True enough, we have started our journey towards partnership with communities, starting with Navotas. Last March 11, 2020, we have been granted a slot to introduce PIChE in front of the Navotas LGU. We have introduced our services, capabilities, and most especially our willingness to partner with them in their goal towards sustainable communities.

The sustainable community concept is part of the Sustainable Development Goals (i.e. SDG 11). The SDGs has set interconnected targets that aims to address climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, among other priorities. The four focus points of SDG11, as interpreted the most livable cities include: resilience, mobility, basic services, and government technologies.

Further, we have also discussed to the LGU our intent to help them shift to an integrated solid waste management framework. The stakeholders have been receptive of our proposals and they intend to partner with us in the near future.

As former UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon puts it, if we cannot all swim together, we will sink. There is no Plan B because there is no Planet B. Let us be partners to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals!
