Continuously building PICHE CAMANAVA member’s technical capacity, the Chapter conducted its annual Advanced Level Engineer Workshop last April 23, 2022 online. This webinar-workshop aims to aid all engineers in enhancing their understanding of engineering competencies and how it can be achieved. Engr. Cezar S. de la Cruz imparted his knowledge as the trainer and has been an ASEAN Engineer since June 2015.

The webinar-workshop is majorly divided into three sessions to have ample time in focusing on each topic. Session 1 covered the introduction of PTC or Philippine Technological Council and how it connects to Engineering Registers. After knowing about these various registers, Session 2 encompassed the various requirements needed to register or be considered as a Professional Engineer within an economy. Session 3 delved into Continuing Professional Development – through different means like training, earning master’s degree, publishing papers and others, which are also counted and considered part of the requirements for registering as ‘Advanced Level Engineer’.

Before wrapping it all up, a short workshop was done, where the participants were divided into small groups and were tasked to prepare an outline of what they think will be the ‘best way’ to show or reflect their “significant work” as part of their own essays. Lastly, PTC Code of Ethics was heavily discussed, each rule was explained extensively as it is the responsibility of each engineer applying to be aware of this before signing and submitting it together with other application documents.

After this successful event, PIChE CAMANAVA will still continue to aid and guide all hopeful engineers to become internationally-recognized Professional Engineers!
