PIChE CAMANAVA members were invited to welcome and support the new set of Board of Trustees for 2021 to 2023 and witness the Induction Ceremony on July 25, at 2PM. It was also a chance to meet and connect with our fellow CAMANAVAn Chemical Engineers and Institutional Partners in our 3rd General Assembly. Exciting learning sessions and fun games were also prepared!
General assembly is a quarterly activity for PIChE CAMANAVA chapter, but this time, since election was held just a month before it was decided that the Induction of the new set of Board of Trustees for year 2021-2023 will be included.
It is a customary event of PIChE CAMANAVA to gather all members, discuss the chapter’s journey, status, upcoming events, performance and most of all develop the camaraderie within the whole group.
As scheduled, the program started at 2pm with a doxology and followed by the National Anthem with program hosts, Engrs. Elisa C. Arriola the newly elected Vice president and Gerald Flores, the newly appointed Operations committee head. Current President Engr. Joshua Roco delivered his President’s Report with emphasis on APPCHE2023 in the Philippines to be co-hosted with MMAC and DOST chapters. He also encourages the members to participate in chapter activities, join the 82nd PIChE National Convention on September 15-18, 2021 and the ChE Week.
National PIChE President Engr. Maricris Vines was present and administered the Oath of office of the newly elected BOTs and delivered a short message. Committee heads and members were also introduced and had their Oath of Office administered by the Vice President Engr. Elisa Arriola. Engr. Nicole Baes also introduced the Institutional members, Maypajo Elementary school of Caloocan City and Gen. Tiburcio de Leon National High School of Valenzuela City and delivered a short but powerful and interesting talk on Hazardous waste management at home, which is very relevant to our daily lives.
Towards the end of the program, the members were divided into breakout rooms to facilitate camaraderie by promoting small-group discussions and getting to know each other. Engr. Gerald Flores also hosted a trivia quizzes thru a Kahoot and Top 3 scorers emerge as First, second and third prizes winners. Engr. John Von Werner, Engr. Ver Jeneth Punzalan and Engr. Judy Ann Garcia that won 600, 500 and 400 worth of Gcash loads, respectively. The successful event ended at 5:30pm with closing remarks from Advisers Engrs. Elen Perlado and Teresita Balba.
