Closing the year with a “Paskong Pinoy”-themed Christmas Party and 4th General Assembly of PIChE CAMANAVA

On December 8, 2024, the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PIChE) CAMANAVA Chapter held its much-awaited 4th General Assembly and Christmas Party at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman NCTS. The event was a vibrant blend of professional achievements, festive cheer, and community bonding, with members and guests enjoying every moment of the celebration.

 

The day’s festivities were expertly hosted by the dynamic duo, Engr. Ria Caramoan and Engr. Gerald Flores, who set the perfect tone for the event with their energetic and engaging presence as Masters of Ceremony. As attendees arrived, they were welcomed by a beautifully arranged charcuterie board filled with a tempting assortment of snacks, allowing guests to mingle and enjoy light bites while the program kicked off.

Engr. Ma. Rosario Garcia, the chapter’s current Vice President, gave the warm opening remarks, thanking everyone for their presence and reflecting on the chapter’s continuous growth and success. Her words resonated deeply with the attendees as she expressed gratitude for the support and dedication of the members.

 

One of the key moments of the event was the nomination and election of the new set of Board of Trustees, with Engr. Ma. Elena Perlado leading the election. The election signified not just a transition in leadership, but also a renewed commitment to the chapter’s mission and vision for the future.

 

Engr. Elisa Arriola, the current President of the chapter, took the stage next, delivering her comprehensive report on the chapter’s achievements over the past year. Her summary highlighted the numerous initiatives and projects that had made an impact, reinforcing the chapter’s commitment to advancing the profession and its members. The report also highlighted the chapter’s significant milestones and initiatives throughout the year, providing a reflective and insightful look at its growth and success.

While attendees enjoyed a sumptuous buffet lunch, Engr. Racquel Vera Cruz, the chapter’s treasurer, presented through a video outlining the chapter’s financial status.

 

One of the proud moments of the assembly was the oath-taking of new members, led by the esteemed Hon. Cezar Dela Cruz. As the new members took their oath, it symbolized their formal entry into the PIChE family, and everyone in attendance shared in their excitement and commitment to the organization.

 

The event also featured the awarding of four active members of the chapter. Engr. John Von Dela Cruz, Engr. Josue Cabando, Engr. Leilanie Mendiola, and Engr. Ana Rose Obillo were all recognized for their dedication and hard work, embodying the spirit of service and professionalism that defines PIChE.

 

The afternoon was filled with fun, laughter, and camaraderie as members participated in a series of exciting games. The atmosphere was electric
as players enjoyed the friendly competition, with generous prizes provided by sponsors and members. The “Roulette of Prizes” was a
particularly exciting highlight, as both members and guests eagerly awaited their turn to win, adding a playful touch to the event.

 

As the games wound down, the entertainment continued with a lively karaoke session and a dance floor where members and guests showcased
their talents, much to the delight of the audience. The spontaneous performances added a lighthearted and festive spirit to the occasion.

The event took an emotional turn when Engr. Nathaniel Dugos, the PIChE National President, took the stage to deliver a heartfelt speech. He expressed his deep gratitude to the PIChE CAMANAVA Chapter for its invitation and its incredible contributions to the organization. His words of encouragement resonated with everyone present, reinforcing the importance of continued collaboration and growth.

 

Hon. Maricris Vines, the Chair of the board, also shared a brief but meaningful message. Her speech emphasized the importance of unity, teamwork, and the continuous pursuit of excellence, inspiring all to stay committed to the PIChE’s goals.

Hon. Cezar Dela Cruz, a member of the board and a respected adviser of the chapter, also took the opportunity to deliver an inspiring message. His words served as a reminder of the chapter’s strong foundation and the value of mentorship, urging everyone to contribute to the collective success of the organization.


The event closed with heartfelt remarks from Engr. Teresita Balba, the founding president of PIChE CAMANAVA chapter. Reflecting on the chapter’s journey, she expressed her immense pride in how far the organization had come. Her closing speech was a fitting conclusion to a day full of celebration, camaraderie, and inspiration.

The 4th General Assembly and Christmas Party of the PIChE CAMANAVA Chapter was truly an unforgettable event, marked by professional achievements, heartfelt connections, and a strong sense of community. It was a day that not only celebrated the holiday season but also acknowledged the hard work, dedication, and shared vision of everyone involved in the chapter’s success.
