PICHE CAMANAVA celebrated its 10th anniversary at the Philippine Trade Training Center located in Pasay city last February 3, 2024. Among the notable attendees in the event were PICHE president, Dr. Nathaniel Dugos; PICHE NBOT; College of fellows Chair, Dr. Rex Demafelis; APCChE past president, Engr. Maricris Vines; PICHE Yes Chair, Engr. Vonn Dela Cruz; JPIChE with Engr. Jericho Nacasabog; and PRB, Hon – Cezar Dela Cruz. The chapter also invited its institutional partners from Maypajo Elementary School and General Tiburcio De Leon National High School. Adamson University, Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila, and Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology were also invited in the event.

 

The chapter acknowledged the following sponsors: Velprint Corporation (Gold Sponsor), Auxesis Review Center (Silver Sponsor), Simpsons Philippines (Copper Sponsor), Accord International (Copper Sponsor), FH International (Copper Sponsor), Hashi Industries (Copper Sponsor), Jhetech Environmental Consultancy and Management (Copper Sponsor), and Anthroserv, Inc. The event commenced with the opening prayer, followed by the national anthem. The hosts welcomed and acknowledged the guests and sponsors. Engr. Elisa Arriola, the chapter president, started the anniversary program with her opening remarks, followed by an inspirational message from our PICHE National President, Dr. Nathaniel Dugos.  

The event also served as the venue for the renewal of the memorandum of understanding headed by chapter president Engr. Elisa Arriola between PICHE CAMANAVA and the following institutions: Maypajo Elementary School represened by: Mr. Rammil Villanueva, Ms. Rubilyn Panes, and Ms. Ruth Gaw; and General Tiburcio De Leon National High School represented by: Dr. Cesar Villareal, Dr. Ramona Villanueva, Ms. Jacqueline Ramos, Ms. Jovy Calidro, and Ms. Donna Joy Herrera.

 

The presentation of the academic support program, which is forecasted to be launched this year, was also part of the anniversary event. The portion of the sponsorship will be allocated to the funding of the said program. This will provide assistance to the chemical engineering students in finishing their undergraduate study.

 

Several members were recognized based on the chapter’s core values. The awards were given to the following members: Engr. Maria Blessilda Ruiz for the Camaraderie award, Engr. Racquel Vera Cruz for the Audacity award, Engr. Voltaire Acosta for the Mastery award, Engr. Maria Lovezza Balanay for the Ardency award, Engr. William Gilbert Mateo for the Nobility award, Engr. Sheila Flor Javier for the Adaptability award, Engr. Gerald Regan Flores for the Vigor award, and Engr. Bjorn Ivan Ofrasio for the Adroitness award.

 

The Most Active Member Award (MAMA) was given to Engr. Evelyn Dangat, and the Pioneer and Prominent Award (PAPA) was given to Engr. Ma. Elena Perlado, and Engr. Joshua Bon Roque. The Founder Appreciation was awarded to Engr. Teresita Balba, and lastly, the Adviser Appreciation was awarded to Hon. Cezar Dela Cruz.

The past presidents of the chapter, Engr. Joshua Bon Roque, Engr. Ma. Elena Perlado, and Engr. Teresita Balba proceeded to discuss their visions during the closing of the program.


The event ended with the opening of the dance floor led by Hon. Cezar Dela Cruz.
