On February 1, 2025, the PIChE CAMANAVA Chapter celebrated its 11th Anniversary and held its General Assembly at the prestigious Quezon City Sports Club. The event, which brought together members and guests for an unforgettable day, was hosted by the charismatic Engr. Joshua Bon Roco, who set the tone for the occasion with his lively energy and charm.

The program kicked off with a brief but heartfelt opening ceremony that included a prayer, followed by the collective singing of the National Anthem and the PIChE Hymn. Members and attendees then recited the chapter’s Vision, Mission, and Core Values, emphasizing the guiding principles that drive the organization forward.

Engr. Elisa Arriola, the outgoing chapter president, delivered an energetic and inspiring opening remark. She spoke about the chapter’s growth over the years and the exciting opportunities ahead. Her passion for the mission of PIChE CAMANAVA resonated with everyone, setting the stage for a day filled with engagement and camaraderie.

To keep the energy high and ensure fun moments throughout the program, Engr. Roco introduced a set of entertaining games. The first of these was Spot the Fake, where attendees were divided into teams and tasked with identifying which individual was holding a fake item. This activity was not only fun but also fostered teamwork and quick thinking among the participants. Prizes were awarded to the top three groups, further motivating everyone to give their best efforts.

The program continued with valuable updates from valuable PIChE leaders. Hon. Engr. Cezar de la Cruz, provided the Professional Regulation Board (PRB) updates, giving the attendees important insights into significant changes and regulations concerning the profession. His updates were followed by Engr. Elena Perlado, one of the chapter’s esteemed advisers, who spoke about national PIChE updates. They provided a comprehensive look at upcoming plans and activities of the PIChE organization, giving everyone a clear picture of the road ahead.

After the insightful speeches, the excitement returned with another engaging activity: a mind-boggling trivia game. Members tested their knowledge on various engineering topics and general knowledge, and the lively competition added a touch of friendly rivalry to the event.

As the evening approached, attendees were treated to a sumptuous buffet dinner, which allowed everyone to recharge. The highlight of the meal was a crispy, flavorful lechon sponsored by Engr. Wilbert Mateo. The delicious feast was a much-needed break and a great opportunity for members to mingle and share their experiences.

Following the dinner, the new set of officers for the term 2025-2027 was sworn in through a formal oath-taking ceremony. This marked a significant moment in the chapter’s history, with the incoming officers pledging their commitment to continue the work of their predecessors and uphold the chapter’s values.

To wrap up the evening’s activities, Engr. Roco introduced the final game of the night: The Grand Egg Drop. In this challenging activity, teams were given various materials to protect an egg from breaking when dropped from a height. It was a test of creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving. The teams worked together enthusiastically, and in the end, all eggs survived the drop! The teamwork displayed was a testament to the strength of the chapter’s spirit.

The top three winning groups were rewarded with well-deserved cash prizes, and everyone left the event with a sense of accomplishment.

The day concluded with heartfelt closing remarks from the newly elected President, Engr. Ma. Rosario Garcia. She expressed her gratitude to everyone for their continuous participation and support, and she encouraged all members to work together in achieving the chapter’s goals in the years ahead. Her words of motivation left the crowd feeling inspired and eager for the next chapter of PIChE CAMANAVA.

To cap off the night, a fun roulette game was held with prizes generously donated by sponsors and members. It was a perfect way to end the evening on a lighthearted and festive note.

Overall, the 11th Anniversary and General Assembly was a tremendous success. The blend of insightful discussions, engaging games, and delicious food made it an event to remember. The day perfectly embodied the spirit of the chapter—collaborative, passionate, and full of energy. Here’s to another year of growth, learning, and making meaningful connections within the PIChE community.
